New Life for Concrete Elements

The Loft concept won the idea competition for the reuse of concrete elements, which was organized by HSY, the CIRCuIT and HYPPY projects, and the Ministry of the Environment. The circular economy solution eliminates the generation of demolition waste and preserves the value of the existing concrete elements. Architecturally experiential and adaptable loft apartments offer a flexible framework for changing life situations and the conditions for sustainable housing production. The innovative concept offers a low-carbon and replicable way to reuse the frames of precast concrete houses that are being dismantled and has sparked a debate in the media ↗ in favor of the reuse of building parts.
