Lahti Niemi Urban Plan

Our proposal recognizes the historical industrial construction of Lahti Niemi as part of the new residential area as a unique opportunity to increase the attractiveness of the area internationally. The old silo and the factory chimney are preserved as focal points of the district, and the utilization of industrial properties are developed through co-operative leasing model. The plan's fan-shaped, narrow residential buildings with gabled roofs set against the lake view provide the area an iconic character. The lake shoreline is envisioned as a nature-based beach park rich in biodiversity, which will be complemented by street greenery and versatile block yards.
